The Town of Oxford is an active participant in keeping our streams, rivers and ponds clean, healthy and enjoyable.  Through many programs aimed towards both municipal work and private development, we are taking steps to control what gets into the drainage system and ultimately the waterbodies.  Factors such as pollutants from vehicles, construction runoff and household wastes can all be managed with proper planning.

Blue HeronThe many miles of the French River, its numerous tributary streams, and ponds such as Carbuncle Pond and McKinstry Pond are an important part of the aquatic environment and habitat to hundreds of species of animals and plants, not to mention their fishing, canoeing, swimming, nature study and other opportunities for residents.

The Department of Public Works, developers and residents all contribute to the success of protecting these waters now and into the future.

Explore this Stormwater Management website and see how the Town is managing stormwater and how you too can be an active participant.
