Project Description: The work includes cleaning, prepping, and crack filling cracks in existing roadway pavement.
Project Goals: Cracksealing is a preventative maintenance technique used to prevent water infiltration in pavement cracks, especially during freeze/thaw cycles to reduce the likelihood of heaving and pothole "blooming," thereby extending the life of the pavement. The DPW's goal in using such relatively inexpensive repair alternatives is to keep the Town's good roads in good shape, thereby protecting the Town's investment in its streets and avoiding more costly repairs in the future.
