Board / Committee / Commission Member Information

Information for Board, Committee, and Commission Members

Congratulations on your election or appointment!

Before you can attend your first meeting as an elected or appointed official, you must take the oath of office. Please call the Town Clerk Office to schedule an appointment to be sworn in. Once you take the oath of office you will receive an "Informational Packet".

The Town of Oxford relies on our elected and appointed officials for much of the important business. Whether elected or appointed, residents serving on a board, committee or commission are a part of a public body and as such must adhere to the rules governed by state and local laws. The following documents are meant to guide our elected and appointed officials in all matters of conducting Town Government business.

Please take a few moments to read the following information or to refresh your memory. If at any time you should have a question, please do not hesitate to contact the Town Clerk's Office at 508-987-6032 option 1.

  • Board/Committee/Commission Handbook (PDF) - a guide in serving Oxford's Town Government
