Cat & Dog Licensing

All cats and dogs, over the age of six months, must be licensed in the Town of Oxford. Licenses must be renewed annually. Licensing season begins in January of each year. Failure to license as required will result in a $50 fine per animal.

All cats over six months of age must be licensed and the license must be renewed annually. Annual re-licensing begins in January are due no later than February 28th of each year. Rabies certificates must be provided at the time of licensing.

Licensing Fee

  • Licensing fee per cat: $15
  • Licensing fee per spayed or neutered cat: $10 (must provide a certificate of spay/neuter)
  • Late fee (effective March 1): $10

Licenses can be renewed by mail or online. To renew by mail, please complete and print the cat license form (PDF). Mail the form, required documents (originals will be returned to you), and check made payable to "The Town of Oxford" to:

To renew your license online, please select the correct license type when you pay online. There will be a $.50 fee per transaction for electronic checks, a $2.50 convenience fee for MasterCard and Discover, and a $3.95 convenience fee for VISA.
