Overview

A moderator shall be elected for a term of three years and shall preside at all sessions of the town meeting. He shall have the power to declare a secret written ballot on any motion under any warrant article when he deems such action to be in the best interest of the town.

The moderator shall appoint: (a) seven members of the finance committee; (b) a deputy moderator for a one year term who shall preside in the moderator's absence; and (c) any ad hoc committee created by the town meeting, unless another appointive authority shall be specified in the article establishing such committee.
